Nam et ipsa scientia potestas est (And thus knowledge itself is power)
-- Sir Francis Bacon.
Scientia Pro Publica (Science for the People) blog carnival was just published! The "
Scientia Pro Publica 17: The EPIC Edition" of
Scientia Pro Publica is hosted by Kelsey at
Mauka to Makai. This edition almost didn't happen due to the SNAFU with the automated online submission form. This blog carnival celebrates the best science, nature and medical writing published in the blogosphere within the past 60 days.
To send your science, nature or medical writing to
Scientia Pro Publica,
either use this automated submission form or use the cute little widget on the right directly at its email address;
ScientiaBlogCarnival@gmail.com. Be sure to include the URL or "permalink", the essay title and, to make life easier for the host, please include a 2-3 sentence summary. Remember, this blog carnival focuses on communicating to the public, so your essays must be understandable to non-specialists. Further, this blog carnival is not a vehicle for transmitting pseudoscience or advertising to the public -- there are plenty of venues available for that.
For the upcoming issue -- the last one of 2009 -- on 21 December,
I will be assisting host Bob O'Hara, author of currently hibernating blog, Deep Thoughts and Silliness Madhu, the author of
Reconciliation Ecology, will be your host. If you are interested in hosting this carnival on your blog, please contact me as soon as possible or notify the current host (please note that I prefer hosts who have had their writing included in one or more editions of this carnival). I need hosts for all editions that will publish in 2010.
Scientia Pro Publica is published on the first and third Monday of each month, so feel free to choose a particular date, or I'll assign you the first available date.
